I'm not sure why this hotel get such bad reviews. Our stay was more than perfect. The staff is so unbelievably friendly. They make you feel like you've known them for years.They really make you feel like family. I heard they're in the process of updating their rooms. Well I guess I was lucky to get an updated one cause I had no problems. Gretta and her daughter destiny are unbelievably sweet. I'm not too sure of the man's name but he was so friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean along with the property around the Room.
If I could give this place a negative rating, I would. We were visiting Hershey Park last weekend and decided to stay here aince it was cheap. We wouldn't be here but one night to sleep so it didn't need to be top of the line. Upon checking in and getting a room, the staff seemed friendly. We got to our room to find the door cracked open. We went back to the desk to inquire thinking it was still being cleaned or someone else was in there and the manager says its fine. We go in and it turns out the door is broken and doesnt actually shut. The manager comes over to move our room a few minutes later and puts us in the one next door. This room seemed better but had a screwdriver and light bulb on the desk. The manager took it saying he was repairing things earlier. The room was run down, dated, and smelled. I was checking the beds as I always do and sure enough there were BED BUGS. We left with no refund and luckily enough managed to get a room else where. Avoid this place. They should be CONDEMNED!
The rooms are small but they are updated and very clean. The staff was very accommodating and they said if we were quiet we could swim in the pool all night if we wished. We were late checking out and once again they were very nice and allowed us time to finish getting ready. For the price this place is well worth checking out if you want to be near Hershey park for a night or two.
Even if you are just looking for a place to lie you head... stay away!
When I got home, I noticed bites and welts in my arms and feet. It turns out the bed had bed bugs. I have never experienced this ever! After I checked out, I was never mailed a receipt and about a week later was charged a second time on my card. I had to call 3x to get it reversed and when I got the email of the receipt, I noticed I was charged a fee to use my credit card to pay for the room (not preadvertised) and a safe fee (that I didn’t use or ask to use).
Although the location was good, the experience has been nothing but bad. When I checked in and was given a room, I opened the door to sheets on the bed, but no comforters or towels. Turns out they were all in the wash! I was given these later. The door was run down with electric plates missing from the recepticals, paint and molding missing, and the phone in the room had no dial tone.
Convenient to Hershey Park. Comfortable beds, but don't look too close at your room - scary, very scary.
